Yamaha recently held a e-piano competition live and you are able to download all midi files of the 24 finalists.
The recordings were all done on a 9-foot Disklavier Pro system but the midi files are in midi file format 0
So i'm curious as to how they play on the pianomation system since i will be purchasing a system soon.
Let me know

| Typically we edit our music, to insure that it reproduces correctly, in other words the record system didn't add any notes, or we will correct mistakes. There may be some timing issues we address but it sounds like what your getting would only require minor changes if any. I hope this helps - Enjoy. |

I just got my S&C Piano (Baby Grand model 152S) and Petine Pianomation system delivered last Saturday. So I decided to download the midi files in the link and burn them to a CD-R disk as a data disk. I popped the CD into the piano and pressed play. It worked great!
I only downloaded the files from the American Finalist. These files are more for showing technical expertise on the piano than for general listening. However, the point was to prove that burning a piano midi file to a CD would play on the system and it did. I have hundreds of midi files, so now I will try different types with different instruments and see how that works on this system. Don't be afraid to try this. |

If you Petine has a soundcard, (an easy add-on if not) you can put MIDI file with background onto a C-Flash card, and the system can automatically adjust the delay so the piano and background music play in sync. While in most cases I don't like synthesized background music, I have found some "jazz trio" stuff that sounds good.
As to the e-comp files, there are some pretty good classical files on there, that general public folks like us would enjoy, but you do have to do a little searching.
BTW congrats on your purchase, any questions post away!

| i may agree that midi files greatly help the choir in so far as the rehearsals are concern, however, i still believe that an accompanist/instrumentalist is needed to give color proper interpretation of the midi files |
