There is a small hole on the front of the Petine that acts as an 'emergency' eject button. You will find it right next to the regular eject button. What you do is straighten out a paper clip, and push into the small hole.
This can happen for 2 reasons.
1)The CD was not seated completely in the tray. (for instance the piano was shipped with a CD inside, and it fell off its track, or the CD wasn't clicked in when it was inserted into the Petine)
2)The tray that holds the CD is very slightly off-track, and the "face" of the Petine is actually preventing the tray from opening up. If this is happening, you should be able to visually observe this.
On page 4 of the online manual, QRS recommends where to push on the tray, in order to make sure that it stays on track.

(for some reason, though, in the most recent version of the online manual, I cannot seem to find the instructions on how to use the 'emergency' eject) |

| Thanks for following up on my posting. I could open the eject door, but the cd would not come out. I called QRS and was told to unscrew the bracked and tip the Petine on it's end and give it a shake, and the cd dropped out!! |
